the attention revolution

Published October 5, 2021
Updated April 12, 2022

thinktv recently sponsored Karen Nelson-Field’s presentation at the Future TV conference, a presentation that highlights the importance of attention when planning and evaluating media.

Karen has been leading ground-breaking research around attention in advertising for several years; she has shown definitively that not all attention is created equal, and media effectiveness can be significantly improved when attention is properly weighted – focusing solely on CPM’s or impressions doesn’t account for the performance difference that attention can make.

In this presentation Karen gives us an overview of her take on the Attention Economy, including how we should manage in this environment of information overload, the importance platform plays in attention, and the consequences of inattention. Finally, she’ll consider what a future with attention measurement might look like.
